Burnley have completed the signing of Hannibal Mejbri from Manchester United on a four-year contract.
BBC Sport understands the Championship club has paid a £5.4m fee for the Tunisia international, potentially rising to £9.4m, with additional sell-on and buy-back clauses.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Red Devils in 2019 but has remained on the periphery of the first-team squad during his stay at Old Trafford.
Hannibal scored one goal in 13 appearances for United and also had spells on loan with Birmingham City and Sevilla.
“I’m very excited,” he told the club website., external “I’m very happy to be here and I can’t wait to see the fans. I have played against Burnley before at Turf Moor and the atmosphere was amazing.
“After speaking to the coach [Scott Parker] the project sounded good to me and hopefully we can make success.”
Hannibal spent the second half of last season at Sevilla, playing six times for the La Liga side.
He has also won 27 caps for Tunisia since making his international debut in 2021 and was part of their 2022 World Cup squad.
