Private equity fund Halcyon Equity Partners has made a strategic investment in Zeus+Δione, the Greek lifestyle brand helmed by designer Marios Schwab.
Terms of the operation were not revealed, though a joint statement from both parties noted that Halcyon Equity Partners has assets under management of more than €180 million at final closing.
Founded in 2013, Zeus+Δione was established as an authentic “heritage” brand. It retails a diverse range of products, including apparel, accessories, swimwear, footwear, jewelry, and a recently launched homeware collection. Its design goal is to “emulsify contemporary design with the revival of traditional craftsmanship, local production, and minimalist aesthetics.”
Drawing inspiration from Greek mythology, history, and the arts, it honors its cultural roots while embracing modernity. Zeus+Δione garnered international attention with the 2021 appointment of acclaimed designer Marios Schwab as Creative Director. He has further refined and elevated the brand’s design ethos.
Schwab first gained recognition in 2005 with an early runway display in Fashion East, London’s best incubator show, going on to be named Best New Designer in the British Fashion Awards in 2006. His own personal designs have been worn by Kate Moss, Thandie Newton, Kylie Minogue and Chloe Sevigny.
“The foundation of Zeus+Δione was built on our love for Greek heritage and the desire to showcase it through contemporary, high-quality creations. We share common values with Halcyon Equity Partners, such as integrity, authenticity, sustainability, and innovation,” said Dimitra Kolotoura, co-founder and CEO of Zeus+Δione.
“With this strategic partnership, we co-create a vision to elevate Greek creativity to the global forefront while expanding our international reach, staying true to the values that define us,” added Kolotoura, who assumed sole leadership of the company in 2020.
Halcyon Equity Partners’ investment is intended to propel Zeus+Δione’s global expansion through the strategic establishment of physical locations on an international scale; and to strengthen its online and omni-channel presence.
Currently, according to its website, the brand retails in over 50 international stockists on six continents, including such prestige stores as Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bulgari Resort, Joseph, Volver and Le Bon Marché.
Halcyon Equity Partners is a fund that focuses on Greek mature scale-up and growth companies with competitive business models, strong leadership teams, and substantial growth potential.
