Greece is one of Europe’s leading summer holiday destinations. Whether you want to uncover ancient ruins, relax under the sun or eat fresh food – the beautiful country has it all.
But where are the country’s cheapest destinations to fly to in May?
In an exclusive experiment for Express.co.uk, I searched for the cheapest flights to Greece in May.
I used Skyscanner for this search but bear in mind that the cheapest tickets often don’t include luggage or seat selection.
From a gorgeous beach spot to one of the Royal Family’s favourite islands, there are fantastic options for budget travellers this May.
I found return flights to Argostoli from London for £39. Located on the island of Kefalonia, it’s one of Greece’s prettiest island destinations.
A gorgeous seaside city, Argostoli is surrounded by hills and offers easy access to the island’s best beaches.
Make sure to visit the Koutavos Lagoon which has nearly 500 different species of plants and flowers while it’s also possible to spot turtles there.
I found return flights to Corfu for £46 from Birmingham, £52 from Liverpool, £56 from Nottingham and £68 from Edinburgh.
The island holds a special place in King Charles III’s heart as it’s where his father was born. The monarch visits the island regularly.
Corfu’s Old Town is packed with independent shops and restaurants while it’s also an easy trip across the border to Albania.
I found return flights to Chania for £63 from Manchester, £76 from Newcastle, £85 from Nottingham, £86 from London and £95 from Birmingham.
A city in Crete, Chania is known for its Venetian architecture and popular waterfront restaurants.
While the city has plenty of attractions, head to Balos or Elafonisi Beach to unwind in breathtaking surroundings.
Holidaymakers can compare and find the cheapest flights on Skyscanner.
