A Great Big from Great Britain is making his rounds around the UK, the University of Kentucky. That’s right, according to KSR’s Jack Pilgrim, Great Osobor is arriving in Lexington this evening for an official visit.
According to On3, Osobor is the fifth-best available player in the transfer portal and the No. 11 talent to make a move this offseason. The Utah State product was an All-American Honorable Mention by the Associated Press last spring after the versatile forward averaged 17.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. He helped the Aggies win their first NCAA Tournament game since 2001.
Osobor is being joined by his family from Great Britain during his transfer portal tour. It all starts Sunday evening in Lexington. He’s scheduled for trips to Louisville, Texas Tech, and Washington… if he makes it there.
New assistant coach Cody Fueger teased a commitment Sunday night. It would be an awfully quick turn-around for Osobor, but one the Big Blue Nation would welcome with open arms. Mark Pope has secured five players for the upcoming Kentucky basketball roster thus far, with two commitments since Friday.
Mark Pope planned on joining Matt Jones for Friday’s edition of Kentucky Sports Radio. The Kentucky head coach had to take a raincheck, changing his plans to secure a commitment from former San Diego State point guard Lamont Butler. I think that’s a fair trade for the Big Blue Nation.
Pope has carved out the time to join KSR on Monday morning at 11 am EST. Will Pope have six new players to talk about during his first appearance on the show? Tune in to find out.
