Luxury-for-good maison Grace de Monaco has unveiled a collection of sunglasses that pays homage to the timeless style of Princess Grace of Monaco, née Grace Kelly.
The collection features eight silhouettes including women’s, men’s and unisex frames, launching with a campaign captured by Howell Thomas Conant, Sr., an American fashion photographer noted for his portraits of Princess Grace.
All profits from the collection will benefit the Princess Grace Foundation-USA, providing grants to emerging artists in theater, dance, and film.
“When your muse is someone as timeless as Princess Grace, there’s no shortage of iconic moments from which to draw inspiration,” said Claudia Poccia, chief executive officer of Grace de Monaco.
“It was only natural that the Grace de Monaco brand expand our maison with this newest addition of a sunglass line. The collection is an inspired, modern version of what Princess Grace herself may have worn today and invites the wearer to embody her iconic spirit for themselves.”
The line features the Drama Collection including frames named after characters portrayed by the American actress or her famed co-star Cary Grant. These designs reflect the multifaceted personas she embodied, each frame exuding sophistication and charm.
Crafted in Italy by a third-generation family-owned business, the frames are made from sustainably-sourced, plant-based acetate. They feature lightweight construction with 100% UV protection and are equipped with custom polarized, anti-reflective, and scratch-resistant lenses.
Meanwhile, the Grand Prix Collection, inspired by the Monte Carlo’s iconic Grand Prix race track, features metal frames, named after the infamous turns of the course. Handmade in Italy from recycled metal, these frames feature a hypoallergenic coating and 100% UV protection, with each pair brushed by hand.
