Germany and the Netherlands will once again put their unbeaten UEFA Nations League records on the line in Group A3 when they reconvene in Munich on Monday.
The fierce rivals played out an eventful 2-2 draw last month and are poised to progress from their section to the new quarterfinal stage at the expense of Hungary and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
If that means there are only bragging rights on the table here, the consolation is that those count for quite a lot in this spikey local argument.
Perhaps surprisingly given the two nations’ contrasting fortunes over the past decade, Germany have only managed two wins in the previous eight meeting between the nations, although the recent game in Amsterdam was the fourth to finish all square during that period.
