The German Bundeswehr have recorded two victories over the UK Armed Forces men and women’s football teams.
The fixtures formed part of the German Armed Forces Day and it was the hosts who claimed victory.
With 50,000 people attending the Armed Forces Day celebrations, BFBS’ Ryan Galpin said there was a good atmosphere.
First up was the women’s game, with the Germans on top for the first 15 minutes, including one effort hitting the bar.
UKAF’s women grew into the game and enjoyed a good spell until the 55th minute mark, when the Bundeswehr went ahead.
The Brits fought back with a number of big chances, but couldn’t find an equaliser, with the victory going to the German women.
In the men’s fixture, two penalties in the first half gave the Germans a 2-0 lead at half-time.
The two penalties for the Germans justified their first half dominance, but a penalty for UKAF threw them a lifeline back into the game.
However, after committing too many men in search for an equaliser, another goal from the Germans destroyed any hope of a British comeback and handed victory in both games to the Bundeswehr.
