Frasers Group may be fast-expanding at one end, but it’s also consolidating at the other. The business is restructuring its London-based digital team and is looking to relocate the department to its head office in Shirebrook, Derbyshire.
The company has launched a consultation period for 45 employees, although not all staff under the scrutiny will be made redundant, according to Retail Gazette.
It comes as Frasers looks to move its trading digital team to consolidate operations at its HQ. It follows news that it put 100 jobs under consultation back in April when it revealed plans to shutter its Trafford, Manchester office.
Affected staff members, who worked across I Saw It First and Studio Retail, were understood to be given the chance to move to Frasers’ other offices, including London, depending on their role functions.
Earlier this month, Frasers reported souring adjusted profit and talked of “sustainable profitable growth”. Although group revenue dipped by just under 1% to £5.538 billion, adjusted pre-tax profit jumped 13.1% to £544.8 million, at the top end of its guidance.
CEO Michael Murray called it a “breakout year” for building Frasers’ future growth.
In the report, he said the firm “invested in group-wide operational efficiencies in… digital infrastructure, which we expect to yield a tangible impact as early as FY25.”
