John Calipari says GOODBYE to Kentucky | The transfer portal bubbles | Georgia spring game preview
While Mark Pope and Kentucky basketball get set for a huge recruiting weekend, John Calipari and Arkansas are starting to build some steam on the recruiting trail. The former Kentucky head coach convinced Zvonimir Ivisic to follow him to Fayetteville, and former Kentucky commit Karter Knox flipped to the Hogs shortly after. Top-20 recruit Boogie Fland committed to Arkansas on Thursday evening.
McDonald’s All-American Boogie Fland committed to Kentucky on Oct. 20 picking the Big Blue over Alabama and Indiana. The combo guard was set to become the next one-and-done at guard for Calipari in Lexington. The plan will be the same for Fland in Northwest Arkansas playing for the Razorbacks.
The New York native had a visit this week to see Arkansas. Boogie Fland was joined on the visit by former Kentucky commit Billy Richmond. Commitments were expected. Fland was released from his National Letter of Intent to Kentucky on April 15 and found a new college basketball home 10 days later. The Wildcats will see the former signee on the hardwood in SEC play next season. Richmond could also join the pig party in Arkansas sooner rather than later.
Arkansas has officially added three players who were supposed to be on Kentucky’s roster in 2024-25. Some more are on the way. Travis Perry stayed firm in his commitment to the Wildcats following the Pope hire, and former BYU signee Collin Chandler is following his head coach to Lexington.
