Circular motherhood marketplace brand For The Creators (FTC) has raised £250,000 from Morgan Stanley to part-fund global growth.
Secured through the Morgan Stanley Inclusive Venture Lab (MSIVL) accelerator programme “which continues its strong track record of nurturing technology and tech-enabled startups globally”, the overall aim is to raise £1million via a further Crowdfunding programme.
FTC, “the modern fashion & wellness destination for all stages of motherhood” that specialises in maternity clothing rental, becomes one of only 25 start-ups selected for the MSIVL programme, where it will receive financial backing alongside mentorship opportunities, a tailored entrepreneurship curriculum, and business-growth resources from its ecosystem of internal and external partners.
We’re told this support is “set to propel FTC from its current seed stage to a Series A funding round”.
The funding follows a period of “unprecedented growth” for FTC, which has seen 25% month-on-month customer growth in 2024 and 400% year-on-year growth in Q1 2024 compared to 2023.
“The company’s success underscores the growing demand for rental, resale, and retail options in early motherhood”, said FTC founder and CEO Lyndsay Mason.
The funds will initially be used to enhance the FTC marketplace, “making it the first omnichannel platform where mothers can rent or purchase any listed item”.
Additionally, FTC will expand its network of maternity specialists nationwide, “creating a comprehensive directory of top industry professionals”.
Long-term plans include global expansion, encouraging nations worldwide to rethink maternity wear.
Mason added: “There is already so much clothing in circulation from brands that we already shop with, which aren’t curated to be bump-friendly or feeding-friendly. “I wanted to make it as easy as possible for a woman to find exactly what she needed, when she needed it and what’s more, enable her to consume it in whatever way suited her best, be that renting or buying.
“Finally, the world is noticing that every woman should have access to this. I am so grateful to the team at MSIVL for believing in FTC’s vision, enabling us to bring women even more choices to make motherhood their own.”
