Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca on if there will be any more players coming to the club before transfer deadline day: “You can expect players arrive and you can expect players leaving, it is like this in this moment.

“I don’t have any idea about the ones that they can leave or arrive. Anything can happen. The main focus is the game and the most important thing.”

And on if stories around transfers have affected the club’s form: “100% for me yes. I have said many times they are human beings, even if they say ‘I am professional, I am focused on this’, if they are talking about you and different clubs the focus is not 100%. But as I said it’s not just for us.

“That’s one thing, the other thing is losing Wes. For us, he has been a key player. If you see City, Arsenal or other teams it happens in all the teams. The good thing is we still have a good performance and we create chances and a big difference for me has been inside the box.”

Maresca was asked whether the club had tried to recall goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from his loan at Bournemouth, to which he replied: “Absolutely not.”
