A football fan claims he spent £1,334.86 on an Uber from London to Glasgow after a big win left him wanting more.
Shared on Away Day Tours Facebook page, the unnamed fan shared a picture of the cost of the Uber, taking him from All Bar One in central London to Glasgow at 11pm on April 6.
According to the page, he had missed his last train home after arriving in London at 6am that morning to watch his beloved Sheffield Wednesday FC win 2-0 against Queens Park Rangers.
After heading to some bars to celebrate the win, he claims he booked the Uber to watch the Old Firm game at Ibrox between Glasgow Rangers FC and Celtic FC.
But some weren’t convinced by the screenshot, pointing out it showed a price estimate compared to a final receipt.
One person said: “Or just stayed in London and took a screenshot of what it would cost.”
Another wrote: “Andddd on today’s episode of things that never happened.”
But some insisted it could be real, with one woman admitted she had booked an Uber from Manchester to London Stansted Airport, saying she will “never forget that”.
Another said: “Why the hell did he come to that decision”. While a third wrote: “You could probably fly to Antarctica for that amount.”
