For those wanting to pull back on their spending, especially after the extensive Christmas period, you could see spectacular fireworks for free.
While the tickets for London‘s fireworks along the embankment are currently priced from £80, there are plenty of spots in London to watch them (and others) for free.
Some of the best hilltops to see the famous fireworks include Primrose Hill, just north of Regent’s Park, and by Alexander Palace park, near Wood Green in North London.
Additional viewing spots include Parliament Hill on Hampstead Heath, Telegraph Hill at Brockley in Lewisham, and Point Hill off of Blackheath Hill by Greenwich.
If you’re wrapped up warm, with loved ones, and have a warm beverage in a travel mug, one of these viewing spots – if you live nearby – could be a lovely way to chime in the New Year.
Should you be ready to splash the cash, there are a few London activities to get involved with. Take, for instance, a New Year’s Eve river cruise with dinner – as tickets are still available.
The evening will begin at the Browns Restaurant in Butlers Wharf, where guests will be greeted with a welcome drink and seated for a three-course meal.
Afterwards, guests make their way on board The Mercury Clipper, where there will be live music entertainment as the boat cruises along the River Thames.
Guests will also be able to have a great view of the South Bank fireworks display – but at a cost of £343.85 per person (and availability is currently limited).
Throughout the event, there will be burlesque, drag, and belly dancing performances to keep you entertained (tickets start from £60).
And if the thought of spending more money at New Year’s Eve sends chills through your spine – as well as the thought of stepping outside – than nothing can beat a cosy New Year’s Eve indoors.
Invite your loved ones around to your abode, put on some snacks for people to graze on, and have the London fireworks showcasing on your TV.
Perhaps you would prefer a small family affair, spending the time only with your nearest and dearest as you send in the New Year of 2025.
