A UK holiday company has announced a £1 million regeneration project to revamp five of its seaside hotels.
Daish’s Holidays, a family-owned UK coach holiday group, is set to being work this month ahead of the summer 2025 season.
The company, which has 12 hotels in total, will refurbish more than 100 bedrooms across the five sites.
Paul Harper, commercial director at Daish’s Holidays, said: “We’re thrilled to announce a substantial refurbishment programme that reflects our dedication to providing wonderful experiences for our guests.
“This investment is not only about aesthetic upgrades but also about creating warm, welcoming spaces where our guests can feel at home while enjoying all that Daish’s offers.”
The Imperial Hotel in Devonshire Place, Eastbourne, the Russell Hotel in Weymouth, the Esplanade Hotel in Scarborough, the Abbey Lawn Hotel in Torquay, and Daish’s Hotel on the Isle of Wight will all see building work commence imminently.
The refurbishment will see work undertaken both internally and externally a new lift set to be installed at the Abbey Lawn Hotel whilst significant roof works will be carried out at the Imperial Hotel.
Several improvements will also be made to the group’s Sandringham Hotel following Daish’s recent acquisition of the site.
The group said it was seeking planning permission for a significant investment and upgrades to the hotel later in the year.
Refurbishment of its Scarborough site comes at a time of wider regeneration of the seaside town, where tourists have flocked to since the 1600s.
The council has announced plans to “breathe new life into Scarborough’s South Bay” with the purpose of transforming the area into a “must visit” destination and a successful working harbour.
It will see the provision of new kiosks at the pier’s entrance, refurbishments of buildings to include better artists’ studios and offices and the construction of new public toilets, all with the aim to “improve the public realm”.
The family-owned company has been running since 1979 and has 12 hotels in 10 popular UK resorts.
It operates throughout England and Wales and has its own fleet of luxury coaches to transport customers, with pick-up points ranging from Yorkshire to Cornwall.
