The event, organised by the Llanfair Caereinion Cancer Research Committee, took place at the leisure centre on Friday, October 11, and was attended by more than 230 people.

The show featured models, including committee members, showcasing the latest autumn fashions from Daisy Blue of Llanfyllin.

Margaret Hughes, chair of the local fundraising committee, said: “On behalf of the Llanfair Caereinion Cancer Research Committee, we would like to extend our huge thanks to all who supported the fashion show.

“What a great evening – wonderful fashions, fabulous entertainment – and all whilst raising a huge amount for this important charity.”

She added: “This event proved so popular that we had to change the venue to accommodate the numbers and we are so grateful to the staff at the leisure centre for their help and support.

“And finally we would like to thank everyone who supported us and made it such a great evening.

“The local Committee work hard to raise much needed funds to support the activities of Cancer Research, which does valuable work into the causes and cures of cancer so that Together we will beat cancer.

“The incredible amount raised at this event is another welcome boost to our fundraising efforts this year and we are so grateful for everyone’s continued support.”

Jackie Evans, of Daisy Blue in Llanfyllin, said: “We are delighted to be supporting this very worthy charity and appreciate the opportunity to showcase the wide range of beautiful, affordable and quality items we have available at our shop in Llanfyllin.

“It was a real pleasure to attend the event and we thoroughly enjoyed it.”
