Whilst there are many routes that tourists can take across Malta, the majority begin in the capital of Valletta, a World Heritage Site with a history that spans back to the 16th Century.
When visiting the city, most tourists enjoy taking a trip to St John’s Co-Cathedral to see its classic Baroque architecture and pieces of artwork by Caravaggio.
Those interested in more recent history can also consider the Lascaris War Rooms, a museum dedicated to the vast network of tunnels and offices used to defend the country during World War Two.

Food lovers can also enjoy Paola’s famous pastizzi, the local take on the UK pastry, which can be found at many bakeries and cafes.
