Euro 2024: England draw against Denmark
Former England captain, and Match of the Day expert, Alan Shearer said there was “no energy” and “so much more to come from those players out there”, but that the performance was “concerning”.
He also said Southgate’s “not getting the best out of England’s best players.”
Gareth Southgate said the team kept giving away possession and that their performance needs to improve if England wants to progress to the next stages of the tournament. They finished as runners up in Euro 2020.
England captain Harry Kane said the team “hadn’t been good enough” on the ball. He explained: “it’s a time to stay calm, a time to improve for sure.”
