Eraldo Poletto has been appointed as the new CEO of Furla, confirmed by the Bolzano-based group in a press release following the renewal of the board of directors at the shareholders’ meeting held on August 26. Poletto, coming from Santoni and previously CEO of Furla from 2010 to 2016, succeeds Giorgio Presca, who left the company after two years in charge.
With a profound and significant understanding of the market in which Furla operates, Poletto brings extensive experience, as outlined in the company’s press release from San Lazzaro di Savena. The former CEO of Santoni also served as the general manager and brand president of Stuart Weitzman of Tapestry, as well as CEO of Salvatore Ferragamo and Diesel of OTB.
“Eraldo Poletto will successfully lead the company on its path of consolidation and growth. He aims for ambitious goals that are consistent with the history and tradition of a globally esteemed Italian brand,” stated Gaetano Terrin, chairman of Furla’s board of directors.
This appointment comes at a time of transition for Furla, which, after years of losses, has begun formal negotiations to restructure its debt. According to the most recent annual report available and reviewed by Bloomberg, Furla owed €154 million to its bank creditors at the end of 2022.
Bloomberg reports that Furla registered revenues of €186 million and losses of €27 million in 2022. The group, controlled by the founding Furlanetto family, would require €25 million in financing for its operations.
