Talk show superstar Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, faced a major setback when their luxury mansion in England’s Cotswolds was flooded after Storm Bert struck several regions of Britain. The couple reportedly decided to relocate to England after Donald Trump’s victory against Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
The flooding occurred shortly after their move as days of intense rain and gusts of up to 80 mph pounded the area, leaving their property submerged by water. Roads and pathways in the region were flooded, trapping residents in their homes.
“The floodwaters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I’ve seen it in years,” a local resident told the Daily Mail for a report on the flood published Saturday.
Ellen DeGeneres and her wife chose to “get the hell out” of the United States soon after Trump’s win. At the time, the comedian was notably vocal in her support for Kamala Harris, even donating to Harris’s campaign, according to reports.
“There is nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come! I can’t wait for Kamala Harris to be our next president,” DeGeneres wrote in an Instagram post in August. The couple has reportedly vowed never to return to the US.

“It really is a beautiful house,” a local source commented. “The area itself is very quiet; some might even say boring, as there’s not much to do, especially during the colder months. However, many celebrities live in the area.”
