Digital retail giant eBay and global payments specialist Klarna have expanded their strategic partnership to include new European markets, including the UK.
This makes Klarna’s Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment options available to more eBay shoppers… “giving buyers more choice and flexibility in how they pay”.
It’s targeting specific buyer groups, “aligning with the evolving preferences of today’s shoppers”, in which Klarna points to “nearly half of Gen Z and Millennial consumers having used BNPL in the past 12 months”.
The expansion to new European markets follows a “successful” launch in Germany, so eBay is offering Klarna’s flexible payment options to millions of shoppers in the UK, Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain, “with more markets coming soon”.
eBay shoppers can choose from Klarna’s payment options depending on their location, including interest-free Pay in 3, Pay in 30 days, or Financing for larger purchases with monthly repayments made over a longer period of time.
Avritti Khandurie Mittal, VP & General Manager of Global Payments and Financial Services at eBay said: “We are unlocking greater payment choice and flexibility for eBay shoppers by expanding our strategic partnership with Klarna to several key markets.”
