British footwear and accessories brand Dr. Martens and contemporary brand MM6 Maison Margiela have teamed up to launch a capsule collection.
This first-time partnership reimagines classic Dr. Martens silhouettes by combining the brands two distinct design languages to create a shared artistic expression. Notably, the collection reconstructs and merges four Dr. Martens classics to form three hybrid silhouettes with an MM6 twist, debuting as part of MM6 Maison Margiela’s AW24 show.
The result is the 1460 / 1461 Boot, which fuses Dr. Martens’ Original 1460 8-eye boot with the 1461 3-eye shoe, blending durable Vintage Smooth leather in oxblood with soft black Virginia leather.
Completing the collection is the The 1490 / 1461 Boot, an extra-tall 1490 10-eye boot reconstructed with a bump toe edition of the 1461 shoe, and the 1461 / Penton Shoe, a classic 1461 shoe reimagined with the Penton loafer, featuring black Vintage Smooth leather with a subtle hint of oxblood.
Each style is finished with Dr. Martens’ signature details: the iconic AirWair heel loop, the classic DMS soles, and Dr. Martens’ signature yellow welt stitching, as well as MM6’s debossed numeric artwork.
The Dr. Martens x MM6 Maison Margiela collection will be available starting November 19 on both brands’ websites, in select MM6 Maison Margiela stores, and at limited multi-brand retailers worldwide.
