Disability Sports Organisations are a good starting point for many deaf and disabled people who want to be more active. They provide advice, support, and opportunities for people of all ages with specific impairments to take part in sport and activity.
The Dwarf Sports Association UK supports the Equal Play campaign
ParalympicsGB launched the Equal Play campaign. Its goal is to ensure that no child is left on the sidelines by asking the UK government to commit to making positive changes for disabled children to improve their access to school sport.
Just 1 in 4 disabled children say they take part regularly in sport at school. There are 1.5 million disabled children – 15% of the school population – and it is shocking that such a large number of young people do not have the chance to participate in sport and develop and grow as a result.
ParalympicsGB has published an Open Letter calling for the Prime Minister to commit to a clear plan to create positive change on this issue.
