DHL, the German logistics company, has invested £230 million in a new state-of-the-art e-commerce hub in Coventry which will create up to 600 local jobs.
The new facility, which covers 25,000 square metres, can handle up to a million parcels a day. It is intended to speed up delivery times for consumers in the Coventry and West Midlands economy.
The UK is expected to reach an e-commerce turnover of $176 billion in 2029, ahead of all European economies. The new hub will provide EV charging points and will contain 7,000 square metres of solar panels along with LED lighting to minimise the site’s environmental impact.
