Dele Alli is set for a new chapter of his career after working on his match fitness with Everton
Dele looks set to leave Everton. The 28-year-old has been out of contract since the summer but remained at Finch Farm while he attempted to overcome a series of fitness issues.
The midfielder has not played a competitive game since his loan spell with Besiktas late in the 2023/24 season. His last game for Everton was early in that campaign under Frank Lampard.
An injury to his groin area and a host of setbacks have hampered his efforts to recover. Everton and former club Tottenham Hotspur had reached an agreement that paved the way for a new deal with Everton if he could prove his fitness, but the potential for him to remain with the Blues now appears to be over.

Dele was pictured watching Italian side Como beat Roma at the weekend, where manager Cesc Fabregas has offered him the chance to train with his squad.
Dele wrote on Instagram: “As widely published this week, 2025 may set me on a new path with some exciting opportunities. Before any of that happens it’s very important for me to make clear how grateful I am of all the fans, staff and players at Everton FC for the support they have given me.
“It’s been an incredibly tough journey trying to put the final pieces together to regain match fitness and I cannot thank the Everton staff enough for the hard work they have put into this process.Unfortunately things haven’t worked out as we all would have hoped and I think it is the right time to for me to turn a new page. I want to wish everyone at this amazing club the very best of luck and hopefully we will see eachother again very soon.”
