Cardiff City midfielder David Turnbull faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after having surgery on a hamstring injury.
The former Celtic player, 25, has missed the Bluebirds’ past two Championship matches.
Right-back Perry Ng has also injured a hamstring but is not expected to be ruled out as long as Turnbull.
“Perry’s got a problem with his hamstring and David has had an operation on his hamstring, so he’s a long-term injury now. Perry we’ll assess,” said Cardiff manager Omer Riza.
“We’ve got a few injuries now and the squad is a bit thin but the boys are doing a great job to maintain the levels we need to get something from games.”
Turnbull had been a first-team regular for Cardiff before his injury, making 12 appearances so far this season.
The Bluebirds are 21st in the Championship table – one point and one place above the relegation zone – after Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Stoke City left Riza’s side winless in seven games.
