The David Beckham business empire continues to expand with news that the star footballer-turned-entrepreneur has invested in stock exchange-listed health sciences company Prenetics.
He’s become a “strategic investor” in the American business and he and the company will “become co-founding partners of a new health and wellness brand, IM8, which will focus on cutting-edge consumer health products, with details to be announced at a later date”.
It’s an interesting move for Beckham who’s better known so far for endorsements of brands like Adidas, Tudor, and Haig whisky, as well as his own branded products like eyewear in a link with Safilo and beauty products in tie-ups with Coty and L’Oréal.
Beckham said of the new deal: “Throughout my life and career, I’ve been fortunate to have access to the best medical professionals, nutrition experts and fitness coaches. Their guidance has been crucial to my health and well-being. That’s why I am excited to be working with Prenetics — a company that is dedicated to innovative, world-leading scientific advancements in health — as a co-founding partner and ambassador for IM8.”
Danny Yeung, CEO and co-founder of Prenetics, added that his involvement “marks a transformative era for Prenetics in global health innovation and wellness. David epitomises the values of discipline, teamwork and health, aligning perfectly with Prenetics’ core principles.”
