As summer in the UK draws to a close and the temperatures drop, it’s easy to start daydreaming about long white beaches and balmy winter days.
Thousands of people have already made the leap across the world to Australia – and now it’s been named the most desirable place to relocate to.
International health insurance experts at William Russell analysed data from the last 30 years to reveal the countries people are looking to move to in 2024.
By analysing the Google searches from across the world over the last three decades, Australia was found to have the most.
With 132,500 Google searches for the term ‘moving to Australia,’ this country takes the top spot.
if you are considering a move, then the most popular destinations are Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
Australia has plenty to offer people who are interested in changing their lives up. Wages are high, the beaches are among the best in the world and the weather stays warm for the majority of the year.
The summer months in Australia fall in the UK’s coldest months between December and February, where temperatures can soar above 30 degrees, allowing for a Christmas on the beach.
According to the Met Office, Sydney’s December’s temperature averages 26.2C, while January brings Sydney’s highest temperatures, with average daily maximums of an impressive 27.4C.
Even in winter, temperatures rarely dip below 8C, which by UK standards is positively balmy.
Just across the ditch from Australia and coming in third on the list is New Zealand, another popular destination for expats to start afresh.
New Zealand, although smaller than Australia, has a similar climate and gorgeous beaches – and If you are one of the 83,700 researching ‘moving to New Zealand,’ then you are in luck.
The country offers a range of visa options to support potential expats,with some of the most common including the Essential Skills Work Visa and Resident Visa.
