Roberts, from Crynant, played 152 senior games for Swansea after progressing through the club’s academy ranks.
The 2021 Championship play-off final loss to Brentford proved to be his final appearance before he was sold to Burnley in a cut-price deal because he had only a year left on his Swansea contract.
Roberts said he wants to make “good memories” at Swansea “when I do go back and play for them again”, with his future beyond this season uncertain given that his Burnley deal is running down.
It could well be that Swansea are in the market for a right-sided defender come next summer.
As things stand, experienced duo Kyle Naughton and Cyrus Christie see their contracts expire at the end of the season, while it would be no surprise should there be transfer interest in Swansea’s current first-choice right-back, Josh Key.
For the moment, Roberts’ focus is on Burnley, where he has made 12 appearances so far this season.
“He is a brilliant player in a really brilliant team, highly motivated for that team to go and get promoted I am sure,” Williams added.
“I don’t think he is talking about anything else other than that, but he makes no secret about how much he loves this club and we all understand that.
“We are talking about something [which is] potential, in the future, and there is no disrespect towards Burnley whatsoever.”
