Big Blue Nation has not hesitated to help jump-start the Mark Pope era in Lexington with both excitement and financial support.
The world of college sports has changed entirely over the last few years with NIL, and programs need to stay competitive in more ways than one now.
Coach Pope voiced that the program needs Big Blue Nation’s help with donations, and the Kentucky Wildcats faithful did not disappoint.
Club Blue, Kentucky’s NIL initiative, has received over $915,000 since opening up for donations, yes, almost $1,000,000.
Coach Pope originally set a May 15th deadline back on April 29th, and Club Blue is already almost at the $1,000,000 goal.
Cody Fueger, one of UK’s assistant coaches, chatted about the goal in a Tuesday interview with KSR.
“We’ve got a huge event going on June 15th, and everybody who signs up for this can come meet the team and take photos. It’s going to be kid-friendly, with free food and games for the kids. It’s going to be an unbelievable event, but we really need to get this thing up to a million. We are so close — $915,000. We’re right there, and we’re hoping to close that thing out,” said Fueger.
Coach Pope has made it clear how crucial Club Blue will be for the future of Kentucky basketball, and BBN has shown out in an incredible way, as always.
This is just another example of Kentucky fans being the best fanbase in the world!
If you haven’t already, you have just a few more days to go here to donate to Club Blue and gain access to the meet-and-greet on June 15th.
