Following the “remarkable success” of last year’s AW23 partnership between footwear giant Clarks and the Pokémon game franchise, the pair are back to bring ‘EndGame’ to life.
No wonder. They said the last collab achieved a 90% sell-out rate within just a month so the new “evolving” launch celebrates Pokémon’s famous characters on Clarks’ Torhill shoe silhouette.
The AW24 Clarks x Pokémon collection shifts focus from last year’s line-up, which centred on the starter Pokémon while this season’s collection “champions Pokémon in their fully evolved forms, paying homage to characters beloved by fans worldwide”.
It includes four Pokémon characters — Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise and Mewtwo. Each shoe is made to reflect “the unique personality and colour palette of these final-form icons… bringing intensified style and nostalgia to every pair”.
Each silhouette also combines Clarks’ “heritage of quality with design elements that honour the spirit of Pokémon”.
The designs include premium leather and suede options, unique reptile-effect collars inspired by each Pokémon’s characteristics, and TPU-printed labels featuring pixel art of each character.
Completing the look are custom fobs, flecked cotton laces with colour pops, and Clarks’ signature Torhill chunky sole — “a modern nod to the brand’s timeless craftsmanship”.
And there has to be a standout hero of the collection, so Mewtwo takes centre stage, “much like Pikachu did last season”, made in grey and pink suede.
Clarks x Pokémon AW24 is available in selected stores and online.
