Miller’s complaints were met with “come on Kenny” by Sutton, adding: “The heat is getting to Kenny” as the ex-Rangers star continued to shake his head at his co-commentator.
Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon was among those in the studio who agreed with VAR’s call. Miller, who is one of the few footballers to play for both Rangers and Celtic, was emphatic in his claim that before technology Lundstram would not have been sent off – met with eyerolls from Sutton.
When Miller suggested that VAR was trying to “eradicate all contact” Sutton had to step in and say: “Come on Kenny, that was a ridiculous challenge,” as Miller audibly grunted his frustrations, with Sutton continuing: “John Lundstram, out of control, reckless…”
Miller then clapped back with: “Argh, OK! Do you just want me to just to say ‘OK it’s a red card’ and we’ll all get a move on. Boydy (Kris Boyd) I don’t need anyone to stick up for me, I’m sticking to my opinion. VAR is rubbish and it always intervenes whether it’s right or not.”
