We are searching for our next Chief Executive, after our current post holder leaves us for a major job at Arts Council England. We want to find someone who will build on our brilliant, innovative and highly regarded partnership to deliver on our ambitious programme for change & growth in Sunderland.
Sunderland Culture is a unique and highly regarded partnership of organisations comprising the three main funders of arts provision in the city, Sunderland City Council, University of Sunderland and Sunderland Music, Arts and Culture (MAC) Trust into a single, independent, and resilient delivery model. We are a not for profit, limited company and registered charity in England and Wales, and an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation.
We are seeking to appoint an energetic new Chief Executive to take the organisation forward into the next phase of its development. The successful candidate will lead Sunderland Culture during a time of change to set the vision and direction of the organisation, manage relationships with our founding and key partners, be a passionate advocate for culture as a means of delivering the ambitions for the city and its people, and work with our team to deliver an excellent creative programme.

The post holder will be a skilled communicator, and an experienced cultural leader with integrity and an entrepreneurial outlook. They will have a demonstrable track record of managing change and growth, strategic partnership working, and developing and enabling high performing teams.
