Nightwear, loungewear and swimwear retailer Chelsea Peers is the latest eco-focused brand to attain B Corp Certification, joining a global network of over 8,000 businesses “dedicated to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability”.
The retailer said its acceptance “[solidifies our] commitment to a purpose-driven business model that prioritises people and planet above profit”.
Chelsea Peers achieved a B Corp score of 99.8, nearly 20 points above the qualification threshold and its founder Tom Pyne noted the score was “significantly higher than the median score of assessed companies… this milestone is a testament to our team’s dedication to making a meaningful difference”.
As part of the evaluation process, Chelsea Peers outlined initiatives that included 79% of the brands’ AW24 collection made from more sustainable fabrics including certified organic cotton, recycled polyester and Tencel Modal.
The company said it has established greenhouse gas reduction targets across its supply chain and, since 2021, has offset 100% of its CO2 emissions from freight forwarding, equivalent to the CO2 absorbed by 94 acres of trees.
On the customer satisfaction front, it said the brand’s average customer reviews rating is 4.8, “reflecting its dedication to customer contentment”.
