THE most affordable holiday destinations for people all over the UK have been revealed ahead of the upcoming summer holidays.
A study, carried out by travel specialists TravelSupermarket, has explored the cheapest seven-night stays, including flights, from some of the UK’s most popular airports.
The research compared searches for week-long holidays for departures between May and September this year to find out where the most cost effective destination is for UK holidaymakers.
With locations in Spain, Turkey, Greece and Portugal, there are plenty of affordable options for Brits planning holidays this year.
They won’t need to travel far either, with deals at plenty of airports throughout the country.
Consumers flying from London this summer will not be short on cheap holiday deals, with Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Luton all major hubs for package holiday operators.
The Costa Dorada takes the crown for the cheapest summer holiday destination from London, averaging £470pp for a week-long getaway on its sun-soaked shores.
Tourists keen on Spain can also pick up bargains in the Costa Brava and the Costa Blanca.
Hot on the Costa Dorada’s heels, Bulgaria’s Bourgas region is the second cheapest place to visit from London.
Home to family-friendly resorts such as Sunny Beach and Varna that frequently feature as best-value destinations in the Post Office’s Holiday Money Report, it’s a top spot for a cheap and cheerful seaside stay.
Further afield, travellers can look to Dalaman in Turkey for a sun, sand and sea holiday that won’t blow the budget.

Those in Manchester who also want to explore Turkey’s Turquoise Coast can also make a decent saving.
Antalya’s golden, sandy beaches and action-packed resorts can be visited affordably, with low prices available, with the average cost for a seven-night holiday coming in at £531pp.
Dalaman also makes the cut, with stays averaging from £568pp.
Spanish island favourites, Tenerife and Majorca can also be booked cheaply from Manchester, with both ticking plenty of summer holiday boxes.
Cheap deals to the Greek islands aren’t hard to find either, with Crete among the top five cheapest holiday destination from Manchester Airport.

Liverpudlians will want to make a beeline for Majorca for a cheap summer holiday this year.
Seven-night getaways average an enticingly low £473pp, which is around £71pp cheaper than Manchester.
Spain continues to dominate the rest of the list of most affordable destinations from Liverpool, with Tenerife, the Costa del Sol, the Costa Blanca and Lanzarote completing the top five.

Majorca offers the most wallet-friendly summer escape for Geordies, topping the charts as the cheapest place to fly to from Newcastle.
On average, it’s more than £100 cheaper than the other ranking destinations.
A week’s summer holiday to the Spanish island can be booked for an average of £504pp compared to second place, Antalya (£607pp), and its Spanish sisters, Tenerife (£627pp) and the Costa Blanca (£637pp).
Alternatively, Crete will also offer an affordable family summer holiday, with its sparkling turquoise seas and laidback atmosphere giving Majorca a run for its money.

Travellers from Leeds Airport will also find that Majorca tops the cheap list.
Prices for a package holiday there average around £490pp for a seven-night break.
Meanwhile, the Costa del Sol sits closely behind in second spot, beckoning the summer holiday crowds with its lively resorts and sun-baked beaches.
The third and fourth cheapest destinations from Leeds are the Costa Blanca and Tenerife, with deals around the £600pp mark.
Similar in price and adding to the mix, the Algarve in Portugal takes fifth place.

Holidaymakers flying from Edinburgh will find that Spain and Turkey are their best options for a cheap summer holiday this year.
Tenerife’s all-inclusive resorts and adventure activities have long been luring holidaymakers, and its low prices are sure to be a hit with sun-seeking Scots this year, averaging £592pp for a week.
Lanzarote is the second cheapest destination to fly to from Edinburgh, followed by Majorca in third spot.
Elsewhere, Edinburgh fliers can scout out an affordable summer’s sunshine escape in Turkey.
Dalaman and Antalya are go-tos for wallet-winning holidays.

Majorca wins again as the cheapest summer holiday destination, almost £40pp cheaper to fly to from Birmingham than Edinburgh.
Antalya is a close second, with TravelSupermarket data revealing that Birmingham is the second cheapest airport overall to fly to Antalya this summer after Manchester.
Other budget-friendly destinations to consider are Tenerife and Crete.
Both boast warm temperatures in summer and ample accommodation options to choose from.
Family-favourite Corfu completes the top five. Another Greek island paradise, it comes in at around £655pp for a seven-night package holiday.
