Canada Goose launched on Tuesday its first seasonal capsule collection under the creative direction of Haider Ackermann, designed under the revived heritage label Snow Goose.
Ackermann, who was named Canada Goose’s first-ever creative director in May 2024, drew from his personal connection to nature’s tranquility and power to create the collection, while exploring the brand’s nearly seven-decade archive to preserve the craftsmanship and functionality of Canada Goose.
The result is a Fall/Winter 2024 collection that offers fresh and youthful silhouettes and a bold colour palette.
“Being surrounded by nature allows one to be connected with oneself – it reflects, it inspires, it provokes. It is in this rhythm and energy that we designed this capsule,” said Ackermann.
Key pieces in the collection include the Rider Parka, an evolution from the Peacekeeper Parka, and the Celestia Jacket, which is a lighter approach and fresh rendition of the classic shirt jacket.
In knitwear, the Cleria Crew delivers a relaxed, brushed wool look, while the Runic Sweater and Chinook Hybridge feature a bold black-and-white diamond-quilted pattern. Accessories include the Avalon Hat, a reimagining of a 2000s classic with exaggerated ear flaps and interior insulation, alongside an assortment of beanies, caps, and socks.
Rounding out the collection are lifestyle staples like the Placid Crew and Wilder Hoodie, as well as slim-fitting Trek Leggings and the ultra-thin, body-skimming Volt Turtleneck.
The collection launches with a global campaign, shot by Willy Vanderperre, featuring actor and activist Ethan Hawke and model Julia Nobis. Through a series of visuals and vignettes, the campaign explores the deep connection between humanity and nature, showcasing how nature informs life, thought, emotion and creativity.
“I find that it is important to get out of the city and go for a walk in the woods. After finishing a project, I crave a reset. Anything you can do that gets you out of things that are manmade, that is when life gets very simple and very easy,” said Hawke.
“I was lucky that I found nature, something that I loved, when I was a kid and because of that I’ve stayed a student of the environment my whole life. It has given me a sense of purpose, something that felt like a natural connection to Canada Goose’s values and this collection.”
The Fall/Winter 2024 capsule is now available on canadagoose.com and in select Canada Goose stores globally, with additional drops planned throughout December 2024.
Ackermann’s collections under the Snow Goose label are expected to debut twice a year.
