Cambridge Satchel will open at Redical’s Victoria Leeds centre next month with the opening being a regional debut and the brand’s third boutique. It will cover 881 sq ft in the historic Victoria Quarter.
The debut Leeds store comes after the opening of the brand’s current sites in Covent Garden and Cambridge, with the mall operator saying the arrival cements Victoria Leeds’ “reputation as the leading premium shopping destination outside of London”.
The Cambridge Satchel store will stock a range of women’s and men’s collections, including classic crossbody bags, satchels, handbags, tote bags, backpacks, briefcases and trunks. It will also offer personalisation services in-store for customers.
Its arrival will complement Victoria Quarter’s existing portfolio of British premium and higher-end brands, joining Vivienne Westwood, Barbour, Harvey Nichols and Penhaligon’s.
This signing follows the news that Boodles, the family-owned jeweller, has reaffirmed its commitment to the luxury retail destination by investing in a new entertainment room, known as The Rose Garden Suite, and more than doubling its trading space.
Cambridge Satchel launched its Covent Garden store just over a year ago along with refreshed branding. That meant an “updated, stronger and more modern appearance” that includes a new colour palette based around “an unusual hot orange”, as well as a brand new logo and monogram that “incorporate both the daring spirit and the premium nature of the brand, while expressing the ‘made in England’ aspect that has underpinned it for so long”.
The company launched a new tagline too, ‘The Cutting Edge of British Tradition’, just over a year after the brand was sold to France’s Chargeurs and founder Julie Deane left the business.
