One of the most popular names in the BBN at the moment is Caleb Wilson.
The 5-star class of 2025 recruit visited Lexington about two months ago as Mark Pope looked to close on a massive recruiting win for this new UK staff. Since then, the buzz has clearly favored the Kentucky Wildcats, but Arkansas has been lurking as a serious contender.
Well, it appears the staff will have to endure one more major push as they look to hold off John Calipari and the Razorbacks.
According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s Richard Davenport, Hawgbeat’s Jackson Collier, and Hogville’s Kevin McPherson, Wilson is headed to Arkansas this weekend after a postponed visit to Fayetteville.
This comes on the heels of Arkansas scoring a pledge from fellow top-10 recruit Meleek Thomas.
Obviously, this is huge news in this recruitment, as the Razorbacks have long been seen as the top competition to the Cats. If the visit happens, this recruitment could get interesting down the stretch.
If Wilson does visit Arkansas this weekend, he could have time to make a college decision and sign with a school during the fall period, which runs November 13-20.
Will Mark Pope and his staff be able to hold off Coach Cal in their first major recruiting battle? We’ll likely find out soon enough.
