The public can follow the story of Millie and Bill, who have returned to the same nesting site near Mill Gate Shopping Centre for the past two years, via a live “Owl Cam” on the centre’s website.
This year, the pair have laid three eggs, which are expected to hatch in March.
The owls nest in a barrel high in an oak tree, which has been fitted with a wildlife camera.
Centre manager Angela Tierney said: “Millie and Bill’s return is always a special moment, and we’re delighted to share their journey through the Owl Cam.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for people to connect with nature and witness the magic of these beautiful tawny owls up close.”
The incubation period for tawny owls is around 28 days, with each egg hatching one after the other, resulting in owlets of varying sizes.
During this time, Millie remains on the nest, while Bill sources a diet of worms, frogs, mice, and voles.
The public can keep track of developments in the nest via the live Owl Cam, and Mill Gate is also posting regular updates online.

On Friday, February 14, in an “unusual” daytime appearance, Millie was seen settling into the nest, a behaviour that led up to the laying of her first egg.
By January 30, both owls were actively defending their chosen home from squirrels.
