The Bracknell-based couture designer created her 2024 couture collection, ‘A Dawn of Elegance: Opulence Auroure’, blending grace and contemporary art, drawing from haute couture traditions.
Central to this collection is an emphasis on the refinement of silhouettes, where structure and elegance harmoniously intersect within a quintessential framework.
A striking feature is an element of boldness that nods to the grandeur of traditional craftsmanship.
This collection tributes the fading art of couture embellishment, celebrating artists who infuse each stitch with passion.
Initiating the collection was a hand-embellished dragonfly on a shimmering dress which set an opulent tone.
The series of garments followed this aura, designed in sumptuous fabrics like silk, satin, and lace.
Each piece communicates opulence via elegant lace work, standout embellishments and jackets stitched in bespoke brocade fabrics.
Vaishali’s designs are invigorated by statement embellishments, injecting drama and luxury that transcends the mundane.
The fashion show hosted by Bespoke Events, took place at the Grand Connaught Rooms at the De Vere Hotel in the heart of Covent Gardens on Saturday, September 14.
VZ Perfections was the eleventh to showcase her collection alongside other couture fashion designers from across the globe.
Vaishali said: “The show was amazing but there were quite a few hiccups that happened throughout the day and even though I’ve been doing LFW for 6 years it never gets easier.
“I think I just learn how to deal what’s being thrown at me.”
V tells the News about the wardrobe mishaps that occurred backstage, which had a clip break off one of the outfits with incredibly heavy embellishment meaning a quick alteration needed to be made to the outfit.
This collection departs from Vaishali’s previous bright and colourful arrays of pink, blue and purple, towards a more classic and luxurious pallet.
Vaishali delineates her designs as encompassing elegance, sophistication, boldness, and luxury.
Echoing her mother’s designing legacy, she incorporates intricate beadwork and embroidery into her designs.
Her 20-years’ earned experience enables her to judiciously merge these four elements, creating multi-age group attire.
Vaishali’s enthusiastically received clientele varies from 20 to 65 years.
She painstakingly ensures commercial viability of all her creations, manifested in her elegant and refined choice of black and gold this season.
The unique cuts of her outfits appeal particularly to her European and British clients.
“Showcasing my collection in London Fashion Week means that I can bring out my creativity without reservation,” Vaishali shared, aiming for continued growth.
Three pieces from this collection highlight the fashion world’s increasing desire for sustainability, highlighting upcycling and sustainable fashions.
Vaishali Ragunathan, or ‘V’, renowned for her timeless designs with a modern spin, graduated from Guildford College in 2003.
This marked her sixth successful year at London Fashion Week.
