Bottega Veneta has unveiled its first fragrance collection led by creative director Matthieu Blazy.
Rooted in the house’s Venetian heritage, the collection draws inspiration from the city of Venice and Bottega Veneta’s signature leather weave, the Intrecciato.
The collection launches with five fragrances that celebrate Venice’s long-standing history as a hub of cross-cultural trade by incorporating ingredients from different countries and continents.
The collection’s five fragrances—Colpo di Sole, Come with Me, Acqua Sale, Déjà Minuit, and Alchemie— weave 100% natural origin essences from different corners of the globe.
Each scent tells a unique story: Colpo di Sole combines French Angelica oil with Moroccan orange blossom absolute, while Come with Me marries Italian bergamot with French orris butter.
Acqua Sale blends woody labdanum absolute from Spain with Macedonian juniper oil, Déjà Minuit weaves Madagascan geranium with Guatemalan cardamom, and Alchemie fuses Brazilian pink pepper with myrrh from Somalia.
The collection is characterized by a unique bottle design. Each translucent glass bottle, reminiscent of Venice’s lagoon environment, recreates the aesthetic of mouth-blown glass with distinct air bubbles, paying tribute to the tradition of Murano glassblowing.
The bottle sits atop a base of Verde Saint Denis marble, echoing the same marble that has characterized Blazy’s store designs, while the bottle cap complete with engraved metallic ring takes its cue from modern Venetian design and architecture.
