Despite the region’s old school feel which evokes feelings “like going back 50 years” as described by The Times, it still has an upmarket and buzzy feel to it.
It’s also home to two award-winning beaches and certainly deserves a spot on your next UK adventure bucket list.
A trip to this traditional seaside spot and you’ll be met with grand Victorian architecture, family-friendly attractions, rich history and plenty of scenic views.
This Welsh gem stands on a peninsula jutting out into the Irish Sea, between the headlands of the Great Orme and Little Orme.
The region’s main streets are scattered with quaint shops with colourful awnings featuring ornate filigree sitting between their curved windows.
The prom is the region’s shining star of the show which takes you along the iconic 19th-century Llandudno Pier, all adorned with palm trees overlooking the picturesque seaside.
On a particularly good day here in Llandudno you can even spot the mountains of Snowdonia or occasionally even Puffin Island, giving the region a UK’s version of a Mediterranean vibe.
Seaside activities here include donkey rides and live music with Llandudno North Shore Beach and West Shore Beach both earning themselves awards for their coastal beauty.
Northwest of town, visitors should head to the cliffs of Great Orme with The Orme being a heritage coast and a site of special scientific interest that’s an absolute must-visit.
Here you will also find the ancient tunnels which lead to a cavern taking you to the Great Orme Mines.
There’s a nature reserve known as Little Orme found in the east with a 1902 tramway known as the Great Orme Tramway, taking you to the headland’s summit.
