Turkey has rapidly become a favourite for holidaymakers thanks to its beautiful scenery and scorching summer temperatures. While the nation is home to an array of seaside resorts, it is Antalya which has been named as the most popular for holidays in 2024.
Experts from Travel Republic analysed search and booking data, revealing that Antalya has seen a 72 percent increase in popularity since last year.
Perhaps one of the key draws of Turkey is the option to enjoy a luxury holiday on a far lower budget than you might need in other parts of the world. The Travel Republic insiders explained: “Turkey holidays provide luxury at affordable prices. With many resorts, from one to five-star, Turkey accommodates budgets and tastes of all sizes and styles.
“Many opt for package holidays as the flights, baggage, food, snacks, drinks and entertainment are all included in the price.
“This means you don’t have to worry about organising all elements of the holiday and paying for things separately, making it a stress-free holiday option.”
Some of the best prices are available when booking in advance. An independent search by Express.co.uk found that holidaymakers can snap up a week-long five-star stay at Trendy Hotels Lara In Antalya with TUI for just £420 per person when travelling in November 2024.
However, it’s not just purse-friendly luxury which makes Antalya such a lusted-after destination.
“It’s no wonder that Antalya is a desirable destination for sun seekers with temperatures reaching 34 degrees on average through July and August,” said the report. “From natural beauties like the Duden Waterfalls to the idyllic streets of Kaleici Old Town, there’s also plenty to see and do.”

The destination received a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2024, particularly recommended for those visiting during the summer season. During the summer, you can book a boat trip which takes you extremely close to the falls for unparalleled views.
The old quarter of Antalya city, Kaleici, is home to winding cobbled streets lined with Ottoman houses and shady courtyards. The Roman harbour is a particular draw, with plenty of seafood restaurants and lovely views of the water. The entrance is marked by Hadrian’s Gate.
Once again, the old town was awarded a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2024.
