The rumours according to which Ennio Fontana was likely to be appointed CEO of Swiss label Bally have been confirmed as true. Fontana, the former managing director of Dsquared2, Cavalli and Philipp Plein, succeeds Nicolas Girotto, who had joined Bally in 2015, and announced he was leaving at the end of September, to take on new professional challenges.
Footwear, leather goods and ready-to-wear label Bally was founded in 1851, and Simone Bellotti has been its creative director since 2022. In August, Bally was acquired by Californian investment firm Regent LP, whose brand portfolio includes Club Monaco, Escada and La Senza. The label’s former owner was Jab Holding, a company that belongs to billionaire German family Reimann. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
