Fashion jewellery brand Astrid & Miyu is preparing to debut in Manchester with a standalone store in the Royal Exchange. The opening, scheduled for 1 February, has been prompted by “significant customer demand”. The store is located on Market Street in a Grade 2 listed building, to “bring the same much-loved jewellery experience to a new customer, with a space inspired by the city’s history”.
That includes a colour palette, chosen to represent the red brick architecture of the city, to the decorative antique brass light fittings, a further nod to its industrial heritage.
The store will house all of Astrid & Miyu’s jewellery ranges, as well as feature two studios for its “hugely popular” jewellery services, including piercing, welding and tattoos.
The contemporary jeweller will also be launching exclusive new tattoos and welding charms, also inspired by the city.
Brand founder Connie Nam said: “Our customers have been asking us for a Manchester store for years, so we’re thrilled to finally be opening our doors in this fantastic city.”
In what’s been a busy, successful 2024 for the retail jewellery industry, punctuated by nationwide stores opens and expanded upgrades, Astrid & Miyu has been part of that success story. Last September, it opened a flagship on London Covent Garden’s Foubert’s Place and marked its 10th anniversary debuting its first permanent international store in New York City in June.
