There’s a major operational change for Epsom’s Ashley Centre. The Surrey premier shopping destination has appointed agency Lunson Mitchenall to join centre landlord GCW to spearhead its retail and food & beverage lettings.
Hired to drive forward the Ashley Centre’s fast-expanding retail and leasing strategy, and “drawing on their extensive collective experience and knowledge of the sector” they will build on not only the centre’s a £7 million refurbishment, but the upcoming arrival of anchor store Primark.
The retail giant opens its store in 2025, and will occupy 44,000 sq ft of the former House of Fraser space, sitting adjacent to the scheme’s central square near recent arrivals JD Sports and footwear giant Deichmann.
The target is to “focus on further elevating the tenant mix and enhancing the offer for Epsom’s growing consumer base”.
William Hooper, Director at Lunson Mitchenall, said: “The Ashley Centre is a fantastic new instruction for [us]. The landlord’s recent investment has elevated the centre to new heights, and we look forward to attracting more aspirational brands and new concepts that resonate with the affluent catchment.”
The Ashley Centre’s refurbishment is due to complete in the coming months, with enhancements to the interior and a reconstruction of the centre’s East entrance, “creating a refreshed and modern look for visitors”.
