Bournemouth not expecting to sell Solanke

Bournemouth are expecting Dominic Solanke to stay this summer – despite his £65million release clause.

The striker, 26, drew interest from Tottenham and Arsenal after blasting 19 Premier League goals last season.

Cherries owner Bill Foley confirmed Solanke has a set fee in his contract which, if met, would allow the forward to negotiate a move to other clubs.

Yet the American, 79, said: “I believe Dom is going to be with us this coming year.

“He has a release clause, which is very expensive.

“We shouldn’t reveal anything about the contract but that area (£65m) sounds roughly correct. I guess if someone comes for him, we are going to have to replace him.

“We have two or three candidates that we have lined up. But I believe Dom will be here next year and I believe he is going to score 21 or 22 goals.”

Setford signs for Arsenal

Tommy Setford took to Instagram to celebrate signing for Arsenal after joining from Ajax.

The 18-year old joined for a fee that could rise to £1million.

He said: “I’m very proud to announce my transfer to Arsenal & even prouder that I can now officially call myself a ‘Gunner’.

Stars to join tour in the US

Gabriel Magalhães, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz will all join the rest of the squad in tour in the US from July 25.

Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka, David Raya & William Saliba will all rejoin the squad upon their return from America.

Stars left behind

Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney will not travel to the US as part of the tour.

Tomiyasu is nursing a knee injury while Tierney continues treatment for his hamstring.

The club are willing to listen to offers for Tierney.

Mikel Merino considering future

Mikel Merino is currently considering whether to sign a new contract at Real Sociedad according to Foot Mercato.

The midfielder has an offer on the table from Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal have made contact with both he player and the club but have not followed up with a concrete offer yet.
