Arsenal prefer a deal for Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres to that of Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen.
According to reports in Italy, Osimhen and Gyokeres will cost over £85million.
But the Sporting striker’s lower wages have made him a more likely option at this stage.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are also targeting Osimhen.
Arsenal have turned down the chance to sign Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho this summer.
Sancho has fallen out of favour at United after a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag, who remained in charge after winning the FA Cup.
