H&M Group’s Arket chain is the latest prominent retail business to team up with London-based garment repairs and alterations specialist Sojo.
The two companies have launched such services for Arket customers as the retailer works to extend the life of its clothing “and redefine how we value our wardrobes”.
Ella Soccorsi, the brand’s head of design & creative, said: “Our design philosophy focuses on longevity and versatility – creating garments that stand the test of time. Mending or alterations may be part of this journey, and we hope that our collaboration with Sojo can inspire customers to repair and customise their Arket pieces instead of replacing them”.
Sojo, which is a a B-Corp Certified platform, launched in 2021 and was the UK’s first clothing repair and alterations app, reviving a service for the internet age that had been commonplace in fashion retail several decades before.
It has teamed up with a number of major brands. Last year alone it opened a permanent repair hub in Selfridges, London, as well as linking with France’s Vestiaire Collective for pre-owned repair and tailoring services in the UK and launching a dedicated repair offer for M&S.
The Sojo-Arket service launched at the end of last week with nationwide door-to-door bookings available online via Arket’s webstore.
London customers can also use in-store drop-off and pick-up services offered at the Regent Street and Covent Garden stores.
Repairs and alterations are carried out at Sojo’s East London studio, with items delivered to customers’ homes or returned for in-store collection. Prices start at £5.
Sojo founder and CEO Josephine Philips said: “Arket stores have always been locations for more than buying clothes. Since launch, they have prioritised a lifestyle offer and enhanced customer experience. This partnership with Sojo, introducing a new in-store repair service, adds another dimension to this experience.”
