Skincare brand Skyn Iceland has been acquired by U.S.-based beauty products distributor Amerikas.
The acquisition, facilitated by Amerikas’ investment arm, was made from a group of French and Swiss investors for an undisclosed amount.
As part of the acquisition, Amerikas is expected to leverage its distribution network and expertise in brand acceleration to expand the Nordic skincare company.
Founded in 2003 by Sarah Kugelman, Skyn Iceland is celebrated for its natural formulations, incorporating fruits, plants, and mineral-rich water sourced from Iceland. In 2022, Skyn Iceland was acquired by entrepreneur Antoine de Larocque, backed by investor Jacques Veyrat via his holding company, Impala.
“This new chapter in the development of Skyn Iceland will see the brand returning to its original Nordic beauty positioning,” Amerikas and Skyn Iceland said in a joint statement.
The acquisition was advised by Palix Unlimited, a boutique M&A firm led by Joël Palix, and Olivier Dupont, founder of Olivier Dupont Law Office.
