An American holidaymaker in Spain has delivered a scathing critique of British tourists, branding them as “animals“.
Rick, a travel content creator with 13,000 followers on TikTok under the handle @clout.eater, has been spending time in Valencia, on Spain‘s east coast. And his encounters with Brits there have left him less than impressed.
Over the weekend, he shared a video outlining his observations on the stark contrast between American and British visitors to Spain. According to Rick, while Americans seek cultural enrichment, Brits just want to get drunk.
He said: “I think the thing you have to understand about British tourists in Spain is that to them, visiting Europe isn’t some grand, elegant, once-in-a-lifetime experience like it is for most Americans. You can fly here from London for less than $100, it’s only a couple of hours or two-and-a-half hours.
“So imagine a bunch of people taking Spirit Airlines flights to Miami or Vegas, but they’re going to Spain instead. So, whereas the average American tourist is here to at least try and experience the culture, see the churches, all that sort of thing – the British tourist wants to just sit in the sun and get hammered on the beach, and forget about whatever cloudy hellhole they came here to escape.”

Rick likened Brits holidaying in Spain to Americans on vacation in Cancun, but said Spain is “less fancy”. He added: “Which really ought to put into perspective what kind of animals these people are.”
Rick’s brutal remarks amassed more than 120,000 views. And people haven’t taken too kindly to them in the comments section.
One irate viewer said: “Calling all British tourists animals is like saying everyone called Rick is an opinionated c*** – in your case that’s true.”
A more diplomatic user commented: “*Some British tourists. It’s like us saying ALL American tourists are loud and obnoxious. Some are, some aren’t. Same with British tourists.”
Yet, some agreed with Rick. One said: “He’s not wrong. And they go for at least two weeks.” Another said: “There are many types of British tourists, many of us love and appreciate the culture…. It will often depend on the resort (i.e Benidorm).”
